I was working on a venue first, but we should talk dates. I'm thinking early September. That was the plan for last year, but we were forced to go later by Beaulieu's availability (or lack of!).

cheers

James

As far as I understand the bank holiday weekend is the weekend before that (ending 27th August)

Don't worry, we're going for the weekend after I think (1st and 2nd).

It's the *venue* I'm concerned about at the moment. Any further thoughts, folks? If I don't get any suggestions which are good for both car enthusiasts and families, and which can accommodate us, you're literally not allowed to complain (at all!) about the choice of venue ;)

I met up with Shimon earlier today, and he suggested the Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester (http://www.gmts.co.uk). That has potential.

Anything from the NE crew?

cheers

James

You know it makes sense:

LAWN MOWERS

Ok, serious suggestions. The north seems a little difficult for car specific places. But here's a few:

Small, but could be used with another event if this was done for a small part of the day:

Aircraft? At the risk of a massive fuel bill:

I'm stumped really. TBH I'm a few years older now and would probably be happy with anything. Even though I moaned about the railway museum I'd probably go back again...

I'd be keen for the lawnmower museum, but I'm a bit strange ;) Between me and some friends we have a number of old mowers :D

She's yours mate!

Excellent suggestions Mr Speedy, thanks. Give me a day or two to digest them, as I'm a tad snowed under with various things at the moment.

cheers

James

I've never heard of those two places!

That air craft museum is right near my local volvo dealer :D

Both sound good to me the aircraft one is 15 mins away :D

Attending an event would be great.
I (and two other DCA members from the States) will be in the UK around the end of August.
Colchester as a matter of fact (driving a borrowed 300 :D ) for a DAF event on that Bank holiday weekend ( 25th & 26th)....

An event that following weekend would be nice. :D
Richard...keep me posted
