The way for 1700's (in my mind) would be to use the 1700 megane setup, it's the same block so bracketry is all there too. There is a lovely coil pack, should all just move over I'd have thought.

I found that was when they started to deteriorate and cause problems. However, they were super common at the time, I was paying £15 for a good cap and arm from Volvo direct so it made it a no brainer at a yearly service.

I have no idea why they seem to break down so early, but I was getting huge scaley build up on the contacts by that time.

I admit that have very short experience with B14 engine, thanks for suggestion.
With big Volvos it is customary to expect to change rotor and cap once in engine lifetime, usually original lasts 250-300k.(740 and 940 red block engines)

Currently in my 340 it is cap from japanese "555" of unknown history, when I checked 6 months ago it looks perfect, state like brand new.
Price is not my problem,just was curious about so short predicted life span.
