got a stat in now and the temp goes to about 3/4 and more or less stays there, dosent really rise or drop, gonna get a after market temp gauge now to see whats going on proper, if its still to high i will get on to the water pump, hopeing its going to be ok now though, will check the pump aswell

What do you mean aftermarket gauge? If you use the gauge on the 940 sensor you are still in unknown terratory. You need a gauge with a matched sensor.
At least if you put the 360 sensor in the 940 engine, and it reads a little lowish, you know you are ok. The 940 engine will be at 87C (or whatever it says on the thermostat), the 360 gauge and sensor is designed to be centred at 92C. You could always put a 360 thermostat in it, I'm not sure why the thermostats are different.

i mean a non standard one like the one on the car, ie gauge and sensor, think im running the 360 sensor atm, the stat im running is 88c i think
