do you know if theres a way to check that? I thought it might of been bearings on bottom end but speaking to adam on here, he said he spun three of his bearings and the car didnt rattle

Yeah that sounds like worn lifters. Try some Wynns hydraulic lifter fluid which you can pick up in Halfords. Worth a go.

thanks speedy, I plan t get a better video this weekend, I just want to exhaust all possible avenues before i go for the new engine! I've just looked at that stuff, how quickly would it take effect, will it be pretty instant and noticeable?

Within a few miles I'd say, it's got to work its way into all the crevasses first :)

Yeah man, you'll be fine to drive that. The engine won't explode if it's just the lifters

tried it bud, didnt work :(, drove about 4 miles, left the car idling before hand for about an hour orso. might take it out again tomorrow just incase. thankyou anyway, I'm so down right now lol :( next question, I just realised theres several types of f7p, i think i found a thread on here ages ago, but not sure now. ive found a couple of engines on ebay. I think i need to find one with a distributor cap though? (thats what mine is atm) do you know the exact code? or could you direct me to a place where there are all the f7p codes? these are the two im looking at atm. Im literally ready to hit the buy it now button! haha
