Google is pretty clever at sifting out the spam from the relevant stuff. Pasting a link to your site from all sorts of irrelevant web pages will do more harm than good, which is why using spam on V3M to advertise fake rolex watches is nonsense, particularly if the post gets deleted quickly.

Google builds up a keyword database for every site and "knows" that V3M, V3C etc are relevant sites for the Volvo 300. So any link going to a webpage which is also about the Volvo 300 is worth having. Quality, not quantity is what counts.

"Social backlinks" have become increasingly important. If a huge discussion starts on Facebook or Twitter about a certain webpage, this ranks highly in Google's eyes.

I don't know how much of a business you are, but a quick filling in of this form http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/sendmessage.php saying what you are doing will just keep everyone happy.
It has been stickied I see.....GREAT!

What's the difference between these two pages other than the page title?

http://www.born-built-beauties.eu/html/ ... parts.html
http://www.born-built-beauties.eu/html/engine.html

Try only to have one version of any page online at the same time ...

;) Did you look through the trader stuff? I don't normally deal with that side of things but sort it out if needed.

When the site came online each page had a short name (engine) but I changed it the day after as you wanted more describtive page names. I have now discovered that Google finds the parts only with the initial page names and only sometimes with the current page names. So when people search e.g. "volvo 3269050" they get a page they can't access as the name has changed. I am waiting to see if things improve or otherwise I'll need to revert to the old names again.

Google will update its search results, so I wouldn't worry about removing a page (unless it's been around for years and years and has dozens of backlinks). It's not a good idea to have "duplicate content" ie two pages which are essentially the same.

If you haven't already install Google's Webmaster tools on your site. This way if you do change any page URL's and file names you can request to remove the existing ones from Google
