Hi Andrew,

That would not be a breather - it enters the venturi below the throttle plate and would be a source of manifold depression ie:- vacuum. If it was used as a breather and connected to ambient air it would create an air leak. No idea what it would be used for exactly other than it would be a source of vacuum for something.

Hello,

great, my old carb runs after cleaning and sealing. Only the idle is a little shakey...

Another question to the solex of the 440: in the following threat http://clubvolvo.ru/showthread.php?p=1551018 in the first picture: What ist the third pipe without a number for?

Hello,

Unfortunately the old carb didn't work pleasable.
So I decided to remove it.
Thankfully I have found a third carb only with the big vent pipe. It should descend from a 440.
I mount it and put a tube from the vent pipe to engine mounting.

The redline is running so good as new!
