It's not clear in my MY82 pic, but that is also silver badging.

Hmm it's hard to tell when the black badging was used. I can't figure out a pattern. Around 83/84 there were quite a few noticeable cost cutting measures introduced on the base models. GL's at the same time went from having chrome top-capped bumpers like a GLS to having a single chrome strip insert. I presumed it was a similar time - but Googling seems to show no pattern - who knows! My old '82 343 DL also had silver rear badges - but looking at 83/84 models some do and some don't. A '82 343/345 would've always had metal badges (I think) so I think they'd always be silver??

I checked the distance today. Approximately 4,5cm on my '82->'84 cars, it's twice on this new 340 DL 2.0, 9cm! That's a big difference... I don't know what happened with the tailgate, still a mistery...

The front valance is simply clean, compared to the bottom of the front wings. There is no evident sign of repair, or maybe long time ago and perfectly executed then, it's not totally excluded.

I'm trying to collect more information, wait and see! I agree, it's not a common color for a B19 car! I really love the beige bodywork + brown interior for a mk2, the B19 brings some exclusiveness lol

I made a lot of pictures of this beauty today, here is a compilation, I'll start another topic with the full pics album. The bodywork is in really nice condition, the Tectyl treatment really made the difference, almost no rust! The engine starts en runs perfectly, the interior is mint.

The only points of attention are:

- the car was running on gas during the late nineties, the whole installation was removed in 2005. A very ugly hole was left under the rear bumper. No other damages left, it was a "clean" installation.
DSC_0366.JPG
- the tyres are as old as the car, a real danger on the road!
DSC_0362.JPG
- cigarets in the rear ashrey, but luckily no upholstery damages
DSC_0383.JPG
- some bubbles inside of the windscreen, never seen that before on a 300! The windscreen is the original one, some faulty assembly manufacture? Seems like little air bubbles between the glass and the inner layer? Strange.

- and finally the classical crap plastics-supposed-to-look-as-good-as-chrome!

Finally, maybe an interesting conversion idea? sm101

Where have you seen another 2.0 without fog lights or the cut outs?

Sorry, I should've clarified.... an '83 onwards car badged a '340'.. with the later dash... unlikely, no?
