Minor update. She starts and runs fine. The issue was an incorrect electronic ignition set up. Quite how it ever ran with that in place is a mystery. I've also had the coilovers removed and the blocks on the rear, so it now sits at the right height. I've done 50 odd miles and it drives nicely. There is a bit of rust to deal with (shock) but nothing horrendous.

On Monday I'm taking it to Upton to a classic car resto guy there to look at / quote / book in for the rust / paint to be done. Fingers crossed.

I bet it rides a bit more comfy on the stock setup! Look forward to seeing it once the bodywork has been completed.

Minor update…..she sat in the garage for the last couple of years, some rust prevention / treatment and the interior stripped out. She’s going off for a full rebuild shortly. My son lost interest and has a VW Up, so I’m doing this for me!
