trouble is I really need an estate,(and if I am honest prefer them ) I wouldnt make mine anywhere near as extreme as Petes ( so put your spoon away Rupert ) I love the look of it from the waist line up , mirrors tints snowcap and wind deflectors.I would keep those lovely original 960 multispokes maybe fit sideskirts and perhaps deepen the front and rear bumper ( depends if that would work with a towbar which is a neccessity for me ) so dos anyone have the link to the feature on Petes car? , anyway you should know from my 340 whatever I do will be tastefull and subtle LOL

Yes, you do get alot for £4k in comparison to other cars, but thats way way above market Value (It's ten years old FFS). It's a 960 for a start, there are two late V90 estates on Autotrader for less than that, without even trying hard to look. I'd play safe, spend £1500-2000 and then you have money for your modifications

even at £4,000 I would still have the money for the mods ( dads are so generous , especially when they have just sold there house lol) this one just seems so right ,good colour , just had new clutch, reasonable mileage for the age and service including cam belt before sale + a full mot and the garege specialises in volvo , we'll see , the wife is thinking about a kia sedonaSteveP wrote: then you have money for your modifications

i wouldnt pay more than 2k for that origional one.. its simply not worth that much.. granted the manuals are a bit more desirable, but they're not really going to save you £2k on fuel now are they.. you could get a v90 for £2k, spend £1.5k pimping it (groan) then just save the other £500 for the mildly worse fuel bills (or lpg it)

I would personally say along with anyone else that the estate there is well overpriced, but then again it is dealer and he does have to make a profit.
In comparision probably about a year to 18mnths ago i sold my dads 1996 2.5 CD Auto estate for £4600, privately.
I believe i got that price because the thing was absoutley mint despite the 130,000 miles on the clock, and it had been bigged up by foggy to the guy that actually brought it.
Are you really dead set on the manual box??
IF not i would shop around and go for an auto, you can grab mint v90 3.0litre autos for a lot less than that one privately.
These 960's are just in the stage of there lifes where the 1st owners who looked after them regardless of cost are starting to pass them on and for that reason they are such good buys.
That was probably one reason i got the good price for my dads, because he lavished the cash on it, and one reason i was glad it was gone because if he thought he heard it skip a beat, i'd have to spend a morning playing with the thing or dismantling and checking things to convince him otherwise.

Redline, you know as well as I do that there's only one way to go...
