1.7 from a 400 is not really an option, then I would need even another donor-car.... (I´d still need parts from a 1.7 340 to make it work, right?)
Even more; maybe I have to import the car to germany in the near future (thinking about moving), and if i put that lot of work in the car, i want to make it possible to do so. Here in Holland nobody gives a **** about the engine, but in germany they can be a PITA when trying to keep "projects" like these on the road.

everything is true except the 2nd statement. stock 1.7 fills the gap between 1.4 en 2.0 nicely.
injected/turbo versions outdo the stock 2.0.
