the condensor is located at the side of the distributor at the cap. You can buy one from any parts store and it does not have to be particular to a volvo. Should be cheep too.
Good luck - Also try squeezing the existing condensor with a pair pliers-a Jamaican trick that works..then buy one if needed.

In finnish it is something like thing that makes gas to steam form, steamer, lol.
I have never seen it, all I know it should be bolted into bottom of intake manifold.
Not sure if I can fing replacement part for it, but first I will look what kind of part it is, maybe I take pic too at saturday, when I plan to wax my car. It is already almost month from last waxing
Actually I have been fixing the paint as it was very bad and now I put so much wax that it will not come bad at winter

I have no garage.

Hey-The condensor is the little cylinder shape thing next to the distributor cap. It reduces the current, It should be a cheap item found at any auto parts store and does not have to be particular to volvco. Try squeezing with a pliers first and your problems should go away. Good luck and keep me posted

Also=most tune ups are changes of the points, plugs and condensor-you need just the condensor in your case. Hope all this helps

Oh, you mean electric part?
I believe that pre 1985 models have that part, but my 1988 has nothing near distributor cap.
Pic from my distributor

Another pic, with mysterious wire that I have no explanation.

Ignition parts are all new, except Renix parts. Fuel filter is 1 year old, that I need to change soon.
Yesterday I needed to accelerate with low rpms and I noticed that If I push accelerator only half way down it accelerates faster than if I push it to bottom. Every time ignition happened in cylinder sound was with full throttle more like a boff than bang, half throttle it was more like a bang, but not same as over 3500rpm.

sounds like your timing is definatly out. the engine is 'knocking' - this is when the fuel is igniting cos of compression not cos of the spark plugs.

Hmm, it could actually be so. When cold it is making knocking sounds when asking power at low rews, but at warm it can't be heard. Valves making so much noise
I better then hurry my evo2 project, new cylinder head, cam, fuel injection
I just need to find that 1000 euros, lol.
Well, maybe I check timing first

might actually be the valve clearance as well - i'd check that if i were you

What a frustration, I really can't imagine what the condensor is...

I also have nothing near the distributor...

Tainja, you car is from 1984 as me if I'm not wrong?

Valve clearance has been checked and adjusted, now also ignition timing that is ok also.
I did a test. I floor it rapidly when standing still in neutral gear engine coughs few times, and then rpm rises, but not as fast as using 30-40% of throttle, also when not using as much throttle it is not coughing. If I floor it very gently it does not cough at all, but last 2 cm of throttle does nothing and acceleration raises only about until 70% of throttle if more throttle acceleration decreases.
Now I found that there is one linkage in carb, it is going vertical position, where it connects via fork to horizontal linkage. This vertical is jammed, I can move it by hand barely.
Horizontal link connects to yellow 'fork' Black fabric surfaced hose leads nowhere.
What is meaning of that linkage?
Somehow I feel that carb is dirty from inside(fuel filter was very old before I changed it year ago when I bought car), even I have run forté cleanup trough it. It could cause that gasoline is not flowing enough well through it and causes problem, could it be?
Today I was beaten by diesel Benz in traffic light race, my car started to cough when I floored it

I bet that it is condensator(is that right word?) found also from computers. Old distributors have it, also those funny parts that wear out and have spikes, need to replace as often as plugs, don't know that part in english either, lol.

i've a feeling that hose is the breather hose, and should lead somewhere. if the breather hose is open, the pressure will be wrong. try cutting off the hose (ie seal the end) and see if the problem still exists. it looks like an air hose. i've no idea what that linkage is for - what engine is it?

Engine is B200K later version, not sure about that. Carb is newer solex, is that z11 or something.
Some have said that hose is for overleaking fuel, but not sure about it.

Where is the hose on the pic that goes to nowhere? Can you show us that with an arrow? A hose for overleaking fuel there? Mmmmmmm I don't think it's possible...
