The 4 and 5cyl whiteblock engines (T5 is one of theese) have a clutch diameter of 228mm. 300 series volvos with redblock's have a 215mm clutch, BUT a 228mm clutch will fit without modification, as the flywheel is the same as in BIG (200/700/900) volvo's, wich feature 228mm clutch plates.
If you need a better pressure plate, you can go directly to a BIG turbo volvo's plate, and put it tehre, fit's directly (as the flywheel is the same). But the disc doesn't fit, as the axles are different. But a Golf MK2GTI (i'm not 100% sure, but it's a golf clutch) clutch will fit, it's 228mm/21mm/24splines.
And the redblock not beeing a strong engine... well i've seen pic's of 2,0L 16v OVER 1000hp engines, with standard blocks! The whiteblock is no match for this. If you want like 150hp/L from a whiteblock, you must reinforce the block.
If you want a lot of power, get a 2,5L 16v redblock, bolt a megasquirt to it, and a turbo. Not easiest thing possible, but easier than putting in a T5.
If you wan't the T5 to go to a 360, you'll have to get a 6cyl RWD whiteblock's oilpan, and make it shorter, and bolt it on the T5, and A LOT of other things.
Rather, i would put a RWD 6cyl whiteblock, and double turbos or so. One crazy dude here in Finland is doing this, but he doesn't seem to have a hurry with the project.
