That was how to fix the odometer, not the speedo itself, before you get your hopes up!

I just spotted this thread! 27.86, I should have mentioned what the rough speed / rpm ratios are. What I used to go by was that 2000rpm was roughly 10x each gear in road speed. In other words, 2000rpm in 3rd = 30 mph, 2000rpm in 4th = 40 mph, in 5th = 50 mph. 2500 in 5th = 60 mph, 3000 in 5th = 70.

Just hope there are no Gatsos around, as 3000 in 5th is about 75 in a late 360 carb.
