The connections you're looking for are in the loom behind the dash. They're a pair of spade connectors.
If you're lazy, you can connect the brown wire to ground at the sender, rather than running it all the way back to the gauge.

I won't be lazy at all and remove the dashboard cause I have to install the electrical mirrors this week.

Have fun - getting the wires through the rubber trunking into the door is a horrible job. I've got that joy facing me again in the coming weeks when I try to figure out why my electric mirror (only one installed so far!) has stopped working.

i'm planning to do my wires by threading thru some garden twistthingys (you know - its like wire in a flat plastic coating, thats quite rigid) then tieing it to the wires and pulling it back thru the hole...

The major problem you have is with the 'door end' of the rubber 'snake' thing. I won't tell you what's fun about it...I'll let you figure it out
