Thanks for that mr fog, good link-must remember not to show them the bit were it lists carb type but the pics should suffice.
Yeah we got two-clutch limmy and powerlock but think I'd better hang on to them thanks

You try getting emulsion tubes for Solex ADDHEs... I thought you had DCOE 40s anyway? If not, I can tell you where to get the manifolds, etc.
Can you get any more information on those units at all....manufacturer and model number, etc...I can't find much on them from the info you've given. I'll trade for carb info

Anyway off topic I think the biggest prob with 360's are the crap diff ratios now if you could get an engineering company to knock up some 9 tooth pinions to match the 42 or 43 ring gear out of b14 diff-well then you would be talking.
b14 pinion 11 ring 42 42/11= 3.818 or 3.82 as marked
pinion 09 ring 42 42/9 = 4.67 result happy punters
both our limmy's mate upto later 42 toorh b14 ring gear no probs + I couldn't see any physical difference betwwen b14 ring gear and the shitty 3.64/1 2.0 glt diff.
Earlier b14 diffs are smaller cos we got one from SAM bilmode but too small for limmy-pity cos was 4.78/1 43 ring/9pinion
Make a nice open diff for someone
This should be looked into 'cos before long when all the mantas,chevettes and escorts are gone people will finally stumble on the ol' 360 rwd and wonder why they are paying megabucks for rusty crap when a few hundred quid gets them a servicable pocket rocket

I've now discovered that Dana make the powerlock. Big thumbs up there. No results for Hor Motorsport

Now you're talking! I have the carb 360 diff which is STUPIDLY tall for a car with a 4k+ powerband - 95mph in 3rd! I also need the flywheel lightening a long way. Having said all of this, I'm probably going to swap out for a lazy turbo motor long before I get as far as swapping diffs.
Run me past that again...you're proposing to use a B14 diff (the lowest ratio they did), with a 9 tooth pinion in place of the standard (common to all models) 11 tooth pinion? Sound very interesting.
We're working on the Bilstein stuff. My plan is to come up with F&R coilovers with Bilsteins.

I forgot to add...any chance of pics of the two types? That'd go a looong way!
I've just heard from a rally guy that the Dana "PowerLok"s can be prone to failure, so maybe using the Limmie / Limmy would be a better idea?

What sort of power you running?
Dana normally build pretty good gear-well my 5.0 yank 4x4 has a dana up front-never had any probs
TBH I think you might find shafts and gearboxes might be the achilles heal for your rig-think ours ended up with shortened/strengthened cossy shafts-the janitor would know the full spec
Good luck hunting a limmy down-I think someone like gripper diffs might be your best bet-think he can do one offs

At the present time, 140bhp / 145lbft, but that peak power figure is set to rise, as I'm still on stock ignition, exhaust, and viscous fan.
The 240 guys source their LSDs from Jeeps.
Gearboxes are good for 250bhp+ (I know of a couple running 330+), but the halfshafts...yes, I can well believe they could cause trouble.
I'll chase up Gripper - I've so far found that they're in Coventry.

You reckon - must be rolling starts-I don't believe m47r box can handle 250+bhp for standing satrts too often-I know from personal experience-also as an aside is it just me or is 2nd to 3rd a country mile apart.Poor ratio choice there MR Volvo
Gripper Diffs have an ad normally in Motoring News or whatever its called nowadays

Yes, 2nd > 3rd is a STUPID ratio choice when you have a hot cam - I'm off the bottom of my 'full' powerband, even shifting on the limiter at 6250 - it comes in at more like 3500 in 3rd!
The two '300+' 47s were a 360 turbo which does indeed do only rolling starts. The other guys had a turbocharged V6 760, and they said it was rock solid at 330bhp, but blew routinely at 360bhp. Fundamentally the same box, although I think that one was an M46.
It all boils down to how you treat it, but I'm planning to end up with ~250bhp, and I don't anticipate breaking boxes or diffs...but then I'll be treating it relatively kindly, because I know it's a potential weak link.
I totally agree that if you drive it like you stole it all the time, 250 is probably yer lot. However, I refuse to accept the claims of some of the yanks that the M46 can't stand the power from a stock 140bhp B27 V6. Whatever they're doing with that poor gearbox, it either doesn't involve what I call 'driving', or doesn't involve proper maintainance.

Mmm James you must not be pushing it hard enough more like 105mph in 3rd flat with std 360 engine with rev limiter removed. That was with our old 360 on gas just trying to blow it up but never happened.

That's on the limiter at 6250

I'm guessing this was a B19, rather than a B200?
