do boge/sachs do gas shocks for it?? better/worse than monroe/koni?

Boge did gas shocks for the GLT from the factory, so yes. About the same as Monroe probably. Koni reds are better, arguably, as they're adjustable.

There has already been talk of the Gabriel ones - I believe they're not spectacular quality, but they're gas, and I'm sure they'll work
Konis are not available new, as far as I'm aware. A really big order might force them back into production.
cheers

Gabriel RedRiders[?] are oil,but they are very good imo to stnd oil[20% uprated i think]. we use them for road rallying and have no problems with them going soft[ie the oil gets hot and thin from heavy pounding]. infact my brother and i think they are very good indeed compaired with stnd-we took sachs towing shocks off which were as new and the gabriel's were a massive improvement. if you want it really stiff buy some spax from dai may be??!!??

That car looked amazing. Had the leather seats ever even been sat in?
Look forward to hearing more from it ...

As far a can tell boge now only make the std oil ones. Personaly I will no longer use boge shocks as in the last 3 years I have had 4 completly fail within days of normal use.
What shocks you need will to a degree depand on your springs. With lower stiffer springs std gas dampers will not cut it and something beefier is needed.
I have a couple of projects on the go and should have some usfull news very soon.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the information. Dai, could you mail me details of how I can purchase a set of shock absorbers from you.
The car is currently going through the process of getting english plates and will then be going to Gelders an independent Volvo dealer in Sheffield for servicing, waxyoil etc.
I am on the lookout in Germany for some front end shocks (am over there quite a lot) will let you guys know if I find anything.
The car goes like a dream, Steve the previous owner has really looked after it. It has done just under 40,000 miles.
Cheers
Ben
