Hi all.

I have changed my B200E in my 360 GLT to a B230 (actually an "A" engine but I run it as an "F" engine with MS (megasquirt).
Here is what I have changed:

- oilpump from a B200E
- oilsump from a B200E
- Watherpump + pulley from a B200E
- engine mounts from a B200E
- distributor from a B200E
- inlet manifold from a B200E
- exhaust manifold from a B200E
- I plugged the oil pick-up hole in the B230 block with a plug

You can see the overhaul and change here: http://volvo300.dk/B230%20renovering.htm

The result: I got a lot more bottom and tourque and a more fun car 8)

I hope that this can help Tim133 and others!

Regards.

Good stuff indeed! Very useful info, it's something I'm planning to do eventually with a B230 K using the B200E inlet manifold and important parts.

Shame I can't understand the text, but the pictures are useful!

Hi pete.

I understand about the text, but I haven't had the time to convert it to english! However, if there is anything that you would like to have explained from my website, then you can just PM me, and I will reply the best I can!

I would also like to follow your project! You say, that you are gonna use a B230K.. the engine with the "631" head and the pistons with combustion chamber! Then you will add the B200E inlet manifold and the use the original LE-jetronic or MS? If you are gonna use MS, then maybe I can help with any questions and other things!

Regards.

Not all B230Ks had the "Heron" 631 head. The first year (1985) had normal pistons and 530 head. You see I have a suspicion regarding where Pete will be getting his longblock from...:-D

cheers

Funny that, how would you know where it's coming from......... ?

Yeah, I'm planning to run MS, especially after seeing how well Andy has set his up and from hearing about the difference it made with Ali's project.

Thanks for the offer on the text translation, I may well be PM'ing you with some questions. First I need to find the time to even think about starting such a project.

Cheers,

Pete
