Sadly it doesn't look like the trailer mission is going to happen, as the car needs to be moved ASAP, and we're kinda busy with the BKV this weekend :(

If anyone has the inclination, it'd be nice to rescue as many parts from the jaws of the crusher as we can, but I appriciate that 'practicalities' are gonna dictate what's possible.

cheers

You have my deepest sympathies. I remember how I felt when Affie went to the breakers. Indeed, I shed a tear or two on the way home. Mrs C gave me a little posy to leave on the dashboard; it breaks my heart even now.

It was easier with Sausage. She went out in a blaze of glory when LankyTim took her banger racing. Somehow that didn't seem as bad as being put straight in the crusher.

I remember when our 343 (Mk2 with Mk1 dash) went to that great big scrapyard up in the sky. It'd been in the family since new and it was so hard letting go!

After driving around for 3 months with a failed MOT and rust holes you could put your fist through (the poor thing had been parked by the seaside for several years) we took it for a last 1200km round trip up to NW Germany, took lots of pictures, then drove it to the scrappy on the last drop of petrol.

I wasn't very manly about the whole thing either, was pretty upset :(
