I still haven't decided Risto, the car has been given a reprieve until next weekend. TBH I can't see myself taking the whole car, it's just too much time and hassle for me even though I hate to see a rare model with nothing basically wrong with it going to the scrapyard.
I'm phoning the mechanic next week to see if I can save the interior (and maybe the front & rear spoiler) - but it depends how much he wants for it, the current fuel price is a bit of a dampener for travelling 650 kms ...
Do you want it? The MoT (HU) and exhaust emissions certificate (AU) run out this month, which mean it can still be registered ... just.

Hi Tom, I got an idea...how about us buying it together, we could take the parts we need...and break the rest...or..if it´s really good, you take what you need and I turn it in to my "bad boy-project"... Where is the GLT located?

I might be interrested of the door cards. If they have leather insert and they are in good condition.

Hi Risto! That sounds like a good idea, how about going for a look this Saturday? The car is in Gleichen, that's 260 kms away from you.
@Tourinki - I was once told that leather interiors got the cheapest door cards available - with black plastic inserts, not leather. So you might want to look out for a 340 L instead ...

You're right... they don't have an insert atall - theyre just black vinyl. Thats why I kept my GLT door cards, they're dark enough to still look right.

Damn. Well apparently i have to bodge something to get the leather look. I have stock GLT cards currently on place and it disturbes me. Because it doesn't look right.

The door cards are the biggest let down ever for the leather interior. In my GLT I've left the GLT door cards in like Steve, which doesn't look too out of place. I've still got the cloth interior door cards with the leather in the vario, but have a set of the vinyl cards to go with the leather to go in that one when I get around to it. And I need to replace at least one of the original door cards in the other GLT that came from the factory with leather. I'd like to see some sort of leather insert to match the spaces where the cloth is on the other door cards, and I was tempted to have a play at it once, but it's not high on the list of priorities!
It's very difficult when you get offered a car, especially knowing the current state of the parts supply. I've got a car which is fit for scrap due to the state of the sills, but, in parts it is worth a lot to me. I've actually paid to store it, after hiring a trailer to collect it, fuel and not actually doing anything else productive that day workwise, it's not cheap, but having those spares, especially some panels in the same colour as another of my cars makes it worthwile to me.

I think I'd like a Mk2 GLT set of door cards eventually... black vinyl with black plain trim inserts...
