Oh my god , I can see it now , here starts the debate as to wether moving from a 300 to a tbrick is actually an upgrade or not

Wow, I'm impressed that my Allegro has sparked such an inspired debate!! You know - stuff the 850-R! Anyway, my Allegro has 'Special' written on its tailgate - but no-one has yet figured out why. It could be because it's still on the road, I guess... That's quite 'special'. Or it could be because my mate pumped up the suspension by somewhere in the region of 70psi above what it should be, effectively creating a very large Mini. Yes, that's kinda 'special' too. Oh well... Answers on a postcard...
As far as the user name goes - I had decided on a perfectly decent user name, but realised that I still had four characters left - so I settled for the 'twat' bit safe in the knowledge that it was the most pleasant four letter word I could think of at the time, and it somehow describes my driving style perfectly. At least that seems to be what's on most people's lips as I sail by far too quickly in a four-wheeled brick. I thought it had a nice ring to it, anyway.
Redline, I want your SAD no. plate - I mean what could be more sad than my taste in cars? I have a fiver with your name on it... Kidding, mate.

sadly the SAD number plate wont be up for sale until the car dies , mainly because if I change the plate the new plate wouldn't match the engravings on the glass and lights and that would be soooo sad .I must admit I haven't even bothered getting the valuation double checked yet.but what can you buy for £400 anyway these days ? Apart from a pretty clean volvo 300 LOL

thirteen new members since I started this topic ,only seven more needed to reach the majic 200, I wonder who is the oldest and who is the youngest member so far I guess Dekays dad must be one of the oldest (sorry dekays dad sir !!!) purely because he has a 300 series driving son.

I reckon you're a close second - your son drives too, no? Is Tom the youngest?

well I will be 46 in April (yeah I know I dont look it ) and Chris was 19 in August so maybe we have the youngest and oldest in the same familt (if not I will have to register redline junior who came to the meet with me, shes only 6 )

Just for the record Im 47 and dont mind if thats the oldest. It makes a change after all I am the youngest left at home now (not counting the cat). The youngest spark in the section and usually the youngest in the pubs I drink in.

Well the my father drives the GL but I have listed it there because I am the one who is always tinkering with it. GLT is mine though. Insurance is about 600 euros in a year. Can get that sum easily just by working at the summers and got some money left for the gasoline too. (Which has by the way insanely high price here.. Reduces the pointless driving around though. )

I doubt its as expensive as here. My insurance costs £700 on the standard 360 with the B200K. That's more like 1200EUR! Maybe you see now why I don't have a 360T yet...

Yeah it seems that you have much stricter regulations considering the insurance. In here the modding of the car doesn't pretty much affect to your insurance. Things which lower/rise the insurance are the year model of the vehicle, engine size and smog-equipments. (If you have catalysator the insurance is lower and with bigger engine it is higher etc...) But you can add turbos and such and it doesn't affect to your insurance. That's actually the reason why we have those aftermarket turboed 200- and 300-series still moving around. Taxes and insurance at the 80's were much higher for the cars which had over 2 litre engines so 200-series with B19AT etc... were popular because adding the turbo didn't affected to the insurance like the engine size did and it wasn't as high as if the engine would have been stock turbo. We also have some aftermarket turboed Ford Sierras here. Same reason.

Edit: I filled the tank yesterday. 98RON was 1.199 euros per litre. Kinda high price I would say...

You're looking at about 86p/litre at least for 98oct. I think yours in cheaper...
