340 backbox and exhaust parts

Given that the 340 was discontinued before the legal requirement for Catalytic Converters was introduced may I ask why a stock (i.e. non cat) exhaust isn't fitted instead?

Equally, doesn't Foggy have a complete 340 exhaust system (non cat) lying around somewhere?

Not that I'm aware of! We'll have a 1.7 system shortly, or there's Nessy's, although the backbox is fairly 'well worn'.

Best bet is just to remove the cat.

On newer cars running on LPG (inc 2000 onwards) you can remove the cat and it will still pass the MOT as the emissions are still ok
