OK so I uploaded half of the pics cos I had to go out on a Cairns Night Zoo tour and then someone goes snooping round
They'll be on here once I've sorted them properly.
In the meantime, thanks Anne for the muffins and showing me your daughter's very nice car. Its obviously found a good home and we'll try and sort you out with some parts that are needed.

OK pics

The car drives really nicely, and Figgy has been slowly getting all the mechanicals sorted, including the A/C, good on you for not wanting to throw it away just because its old. Despite the getting on for 3 months of solid rain they get in the wet season it seems to have survived the old tin worm and is structurally very sound indeed.
Also, get this....the local Volvo dealer actually wants to get a picture of the car because they'd never seen one before. Wonder's never cease
We'll see if we can get a new dash console for you. One thing about the heat it really cracks the plastic up.

The pics look great Andy, did you get one of the little rear speakers?
There's even some of that ratbag bloody dog (and my leg) in there!
Rusty the dog is 10 months old border collie/staffie cross, his Mum was hit *Edit (by a cane train), when he was less than 2 weeks old so when I found out I adopted him..he's is georgeous but quite the pest with his boisterous nature. (Sorry Andy!
)
I'm hoping that you have more luck part hunting down south than I have had up here...will cross my fingers for you.

Does anybody know if it is a problem of having a B19 engine while the A/C is from a B200?
I could take some pictures for you tomorrow...exactly which bits do you need?
I have no idea if it's a problem with the B19/B200 difference, I'm guessing no, but I'm sure someone with more knowledge on the subject will be able to tell you the correct answer.

Paul, I've been meaning to look that question up for a while now ...pistonpen paultje wrote:Could you make some pictures of the A/C parts mounted? I bought a set recently, but it was already off te car.

The difference appears to be not so much from the engine, but the different style of heater box fitted to cars with a chassis no. higher than 154580 - i.e. all cars built from around April 1986 onwards.
These later cars have different evaporators (remember, LHD and RHD versions of the evaporator were different as well, due to the mirror-image heater box) different wiring looms and many other little differences in the parts.
A/C parts that appear to be universal across various model ranges (B14/B200, MkII / MkIII, LHD / RHD) are things like the condensor and various fans, although the parts microfiche lists a different fan and fan shround for PAS equipped cars. The compressor mounting bracket for PAS cars is also different.
All a bit complicated

HI all, thought I'd post a bit of an update...
I got an unexpected phone call from Andy the other day (thought he'd already gone back to England), to say he'd found quite a few A/C parts...AND a non-cracked dash for me, this is very exciting news! I didn't think such a thing could be found in the whole of Australia! I'm planning on giving the dash to my daughter as part of her Christmas present and I'm sure she will be thrilled!
So to Andy, our resident blood-hound
THANK-YOU! THANK-YOU! THANK-YOU!
