I get it, you were comparing B19A with B200K
I'm so used to my EFi I tend to forget there were carb versions as well ...

Could be the one you were in mate, the one I've driven was much more so than the B200k's I've driven.pistonpen paultje wrote:Maybe the B19E is revvy, Don't know...But the B19A isnt for sure!

I love the early silver top engine. Will cream 7500 rpm no problems. Silver top engines rule

no, there's no revs really, but it SCREAMS on a straight thru pipe at about 5K revs, when you overtake people, and has torQUE in abundance
my plan was to supercharge it - perfect for peaking early, and the combination of the torque and forced induction would have been a right belter.
i still prefer the idea of my minis new engine though: vauxhall DOHC C20XE, 170bhp-200bhp with not much effort

I had a C20XE and they are class. Sold mine to go in a mate's corsa, but a year later it's still sitting in a corner of the workshop.
Doesn't putting a redtop in a mini cost lik £5k on parts alone? I've heard that said many times, but never found out exactly where all the money goes.

Well maybe 5k if you pay someone to fit it. The big expenses are the sub frame and drive shafts but you are still nowhere near that kind of figure

Re: 360 GLS engine (2ltr 8v) - £100 anyone?
nah....
make the frames yourself, innit! alright, it helps that i got a welder/fabricator friend, but its still not exactly rocket science
The plan is to stick the XE lump in the back, RWD it, and go around anhilating anything slower than 10sec qm
<evil> mwoohoohoohhaaahahahahahahahahahaahah </evil>
i sure hope it doesnt cost me £5k! for that money id buy an RS200 shell or something (if you can even get them any more) OR an audi quattro. ok now im just daydreaming..
my mini cost £60, so im not doing to bad so far
