As for the waterproofness of primer, I get confused when I hear people talking about wet sanding primer, because surly if primers not waterproof, wet sanding it would be a big no no...
I think it best not to take risks, and to cover primer with paint as soon as it's dried enough, but there's probably an argument against that as well. Painting and rust proofing are rather dark arts...

Can anyone remember the number for my varicose vein blue? Or remind me how to check? I need some for my number plate repair panel.
I might have pic of plate that has that info, it seems to be that 1988 Brochure has not that colour code even I believe my car has that same colour an it is 1988 model
Yep, that is easy check, specially for me as I don't have a bonnet
I had not good photos even with my external hdd, one photo had very over exposured vin plate and from that perfect white surface I managed to get with photoshop some numbers out, but it was either 232-0, 237-0, 252-0 or 257-0, two first being more likely.
232 is the one, cheers folks. However matt black is the way to go, as I have a tin of stoneguard sitting there. The zinc primer took ages to dry today, owing to the baltic temperatures. Maybe it's about time I stuck a project thread up instead of jacking everyone else's topics.
