Re: Lucky escape!
on my 340's i first had pirelli p5000 drago's 195/50/15. on wet braking was practically impossible, even with little braking continuous wheellock, those rubbish tires curse em. now i put those on the rear for the fun bit, and bridgestone turanza's on the front. wheellock practically impossible

Good small tires have loads more grip than wide crappy tires!tommysb wrote:Will do,
have some alloys+tyres from a 480 turbo to go on, at the end of the month! Bit wider, should be a bit grippier! The standard wheels are about 5cm wide!

Very true, but then most tyre manufacturers save their best compounds for the larger wide tyre types unfortunately.pistonpen paultje wrote:Good small tires have loads more grip than wide crappy tires!tommysb wrote:Will do,

I've got to add a vote for the Michelin Pilots I run. Michelin Energy are very efficient = good mpg but not all that grippy, but the PIlots stick like glue.
Re: Lucky escape!
it depends on if its lowered or not too
my 1.4 340 with 15" alloys all round and yokohama tires would step out all the time when wet before it was lowered
but once it was lowered i had to make it step out
