I don't think I would do that... Then I risk to destroy the engine. It's a bit old and have nearly run for 500 000 km.

The only thing that can really go wrong is if the timing belt / tensioner is old, and the belt breaks. The engine benefits from some hard work once in a while.

There is one wire at top right in your picture, where is it connected in a carb?
I ask because it is loose in my car and I have not found anything where to put it.
