It depends on how much you tune it
I think from 200 to 300 Nm.

I am thinking of modifying BMW E30 prop shaft - It could work, i think.
The bigger problem will be changing the gear ratio - I know, it will be enough change the ratio on the rear (diff) - is there a question if somebody did it before ? ... Why think out of something, which is invented :)

hi

Really you need to compare the B18 family blocks to the D19. Presuming the B18 blocks and the B172 are the same?

I might be able to help with that as Im removing a D19 from a 440 in the next few months and also have a B18 family 1.7 block for comparison.

The fact the D19 and the B18 are mounted differently in the 400 series suggests you might need to 'hang' the D19 from the front crossmember of the 300 series.

for the moment, can't see why the D19 has the "one hanging and one lower" engine mount arrangement.

A D19 340 would be very fun.....bespoke prop needed though.

Hopefully I can provide some comparison pics at some point!

Why not a 2.5TDI 360 or even D5? 8) Something similiar as this 145 Express 2.5TDI. :D http://kuvablogi.com/blog/951/1/ (That's the guy's daily driver nowadays who built that car.)

The 400TD? It's certainly possible, I'd say it's the easiest TD conversion going.
