Cheers. There must be some out there. I'll have a root.

I struggled to find 360 bearings for putting my uprated clutch kits together with. There is only one company in Poland I found that still make them, Sachs, SKF and LUK have stopped producing the 360 bearing. I phoned all of them before finding somewhere in Poland that makes them

There seem to be a few race specialist offering stuff that is not Sachs, Luk etc, but haven't checked the bearing specifically, thought it was included. See my previous post about Black Diamond, Competition Clutches, and I've seen Panther on eBay.

Dia, what are the details on your turbo clutch?
I have, I think, a 2l turbo pressure plate, sachs 3082 204 103 written on it but not recognised by the zf webcast. Maybe a Volvo branded 3082 203 033 but I'm really just guessing. Have ordered a couple of cheap Audi disks so its a start (equiv to 1861 626 034). Still no release bearing, and the original has the metal broken off, maybe it could be glued.

Well it turns out the Sachs performance cover plate ..763 is still available. Sach responded with a UK contact

Bearing still outstanding... Dai?

Well I got the Sachs race clutch and it looks the part, thicker finger springs and retainers than the 940 one I had, about 30% uprated. Also got a new original release bearing after much searching.
Anyway the clutch pressure plate is a little different shaped than the 360, there is so little clearance that if the clutch bolts are not fully tightened the bell housing does not fit. I can't turn the engine at the moment as the cam belt isn't on. Will I need to trim this down a bit? its just the edges sit up more, the 360 clutch is flatter at the edge.

Make sure you use the 940 pressureplate bolts, not the allen-key/imbus bolts off the 360. Seen on the top right of the first picture.
Besides that, there is the possibility that the pressureplate will still hit the bellhousing. I think Nimminz used a spacer to free up some space.

The 360 bolts are hex head M8 x18, I had to use them. The flywheel was provided with M8x25 which were too long, they where new so I don't think they are whats fitted.
I did turn the engine a little and there was a slight touch at one point so I ground down the edge. Seemed to be the very edge of the clutch that is lumpy at the outer edge when the 360 is flat and close to the flywheel.
Comparing the dimensions the 940 main lump of the pressure plate is smaller/shorter than the 360 plate by 2-3mm, but the edge is about 3mm higher.
The bell housing has 2 big rub marks from when the plate was not tightened up, but I think the touch point was really the little thin line on the right of the picture.

To update on this, the 763 race clutch was too heavy for road use by such an old foggie, its in or out, holding it on the clutch takes a fair bit of effort and skill, so I have sold it on and got the diesel+petrol turbo 940/740 pressure plate(Sachs 3082 204 033) instead which feels very normal. The edge chamfering trick worked on this too so no rubbing issues on the Bell housing.
This should work but I currently have slight slipping issues which seems to be down to the fact the Audi disk is about 0.5mm thicker than the Volvo disks, maybe a bit more. The friction disk to get is apparently the one used in the Astra GTE 2L 16V C20XE with the F20 gearbox (Sachs 1878 048 041). Or you can add 0.5mm washer shims under the pressure plate for the Audi disk. The Astra plate didn't come up on the Sachs webcat search because the hub specification is a little different, not sure what the 20.3 or 20.7 dimension is. I hope its just the length or something.
The standard Astra disk is reported to be fine but they don't seem to be available cheap by themselves like the Audi disks. Seems you need to pay £90 odd for a kit, although you can currently buy the Sachs plate on Amazon for about £116. There are numerous uprated disks starting around £170.
Anyway I havn't tested any of this yet, so do your own research.

Finally got this sorted, I managed to get a little used Astra F20 clutch disk for £7 on ebay and installed that last week. The Astra disk was about 7.6mm compressed (firmly with mole grips), compared to 8.2mm for the Audi disk. No slipping at the moment, will have to see as the power evolves upwards.
I didn't want to use the shimming since I have very little clearance and the drive won't turn when the clutch pressure plate bolts are released. Its possible the shims will use up the clearance with the non-360 pressure plate, which had to be modified to make some clearance.
Since the car was fully assembled it took a lot longer than I expected (about 10hrs, I am getting too old), but I may have cut my nose of to spite my face etc. I didn't remove the CV joints and used the axle drop method. There is zero clearance above the bell housing with the gear lever stay bar sitting on top, you really have to vary the angle of transmission by putting the jack up or down (and its sitting on top of the axle). Really a 2 man job to either man-handle it in while lifting it or operating the jack and guiding. Maybe my crossmember is a bit bent?

Hi there,
Do any of you use Dai' 2pc Turbo clutch kit? The description says that it has increased pressure over a standard turbo clutch. Link below:
https://www.classicswede.co.uk/2pc_clut ... 62230.aspx
I would like to know if it's too strong for daily/road use.
Thank you for your help in advance!

Its fine for road use. Even the paddle clutch is still not a problem on the road

What torque wil it hold and what modification is required for the release bearing?
