:? Im confused. You say that the compression (talking b200 injection right?) goes up to 10:1 after 87?
What confuses me is that my manual that came with the car is 1989 (as is my 360) but it states that the engine in my ride is a b200e (checked engine code etc in car) and lists the compression ratio as 9:2 even though its an 88/89 model.

Where there discrepencies between the figures in the car manuals and other volvo data? Im just curious... :?

Lol I remembered it wrong way. I started to doubt it also when Chris mentioned the fueling/unleaded issue. I checked from the Green books. 83-86 is 10:1 and 87 onwards 9.2. :D

Camshaft should be always "A" in b200e. "Should" because there have been many cases where by Volvo's data some part should've been in some engine from the factory but in reality they have slapped in the part which has been on the nearest shelf at that time. ;)

So even Volvo's data is not always accruate because in reality they might have put in some other cam, pistons, conrods, head etc... if they have had, for example, old stock of parts available.

Also it seems that there have been 8.5:1 B19A in 300-series also. Here's a snapshot of the engine specs from the green books of technical section.

Have tried searching for it on this forum? :? Good luck with it bro-Hopefully one of the guys can give you some webpge links for the parts you need.Gd luck bro 340pw

It's fully possible. Mine has the inlet and exhaust manifolds from a 940 and megasquirt. It's been abused at 7.5psi for several years without any mechanical problems.
If you do turbo the B200e, make sure you get your inlet temps down and run decent octane fuel, basic stuff. These things are strong, regardless of being the 'correct' year. As long as you don't have silly boost and a lean map, you should be fine.
