Keep the FWD thing as a DD. It has a better heater, A/C for the summer, better stereo and is a bigger car for when you need to go shopping, take family out etc etc. It's also (probably) slightly more economical than the 360 too. It also has the added benefit that you don't care about it so if it gets dented in a supermarket car-park it doesn't matter. As you say it doesn't need washing and it doesn't matter if salt gets on it.
Keep the 360 as a weekend/good weather plaything. Don't drive it on gritted roads, dry it before putting it in a ventilated garage and with the rustproofing/dinitrol work you intend to do it'll last for years. Use it to commute on spring and autumn days when the weather is warm and dry but not baking hot. By all means 'tweak' it a bit, but as Chris says it MUST stay on SU/Stroms.
Here endeth the lesson.
What to do with my 360

Terms and conditions apply. This post may go down as well as up. Regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Hard hats to be worn. No reversing without a banksman. No admittance to unauthorized persons. Stop that. Put that down. Leave that alone.
Re: What to do with my 360
Is S70 really bigger in usable space than 300? I mean, new S80 at least has less usable space, interior design is such that there is hardly any space for shoulder and leg area, also I felt that I would hit my head to roof if there would be any bigger bumps on road, don't know if space at rear seat is better, however boot was surprisingly small.

Out of interest, did you add the spoiler to your former car EFE, or did it come with one?SteveP wrote:and a rear spoiler, original fitment ofcourse

Re: What to do with my 360
I think it's definitely going to be a bit of a pampered car... given the state the S70 is in at the moment it'd be a shame for the 360 to regularly get this dirty
S70 is quite abit bigger than the 360... it's quite a slab sided car and even with sunroof theres plenty of headroom. I guess as the shell originates from the 850 in the early 90's you don't get any obscuring A-pillars etc. For carrying passengers in the rear as well it's far bigger than a 300. Must admit Volvo did a good job of making the huge S80 feel relatively claustrophobic
EDIT: I added the rear spoiler to EFE

I would be leaning towards not sticking holes in the tailgate. I asked because I know that the subsequent / present owner took the spoiler off...SteveP wrote:EDIT: I added the rear spoiler to EFE
Re: What to do with my 360
That's down to their misguided judgement
It's getting a rear spoiler
Besides it's only a Mk2 tailgate, not exactly rare.

I try and avoid drilling holes in an otherwise mint panel. You just know you're going to have problems in a few years' time. I recently bought some Mk1 / early MkII electric mirrors - great stuff till I realised I'd have to drill two extra holes into a perfect door, and into the A-pillar
My DLS doesn't have a radio. I'd have to drill a hole in the roof for the arial ... maybe some indoor arial, stuck to the inside of the windscreen will do the job just as well.
My daily GLi? I'd drill a hole anywhere on that car. There's not a single panel which hasn't been patched, dented or scratched at some point.

What about one of them ones that attach to the A pillar gutter trim?trabitom99 wrote:My DLS doesn't have a radio. I'd have to drill a hole in the roof for the arial ... maybe some indoor arial, stuck to the inside of the windscreen will do the job just as well.
I know what people are saying RE: holes but it's not like the GLT's of the same era had any rust issues because of the spoiler fitment. As long as you paint the holes you drill I can't see it being a big problem.

That might be an idea, the question is how do you get the cable out of the car?SteveP wrote:What about one of them ones that attach to the A pillar gutter trim?
Maybe MkIIIs are different, but the hatch of my GLT is beginning to bubble around the middle spoiler mounting (factory fitted).SteveP wrote:I know what people are saying RE: holes but it's not like the GLT's of the same era had any rust issues because of the spoiler fitment.
I just wouldn't trust myself to get it rightSteveP wrote:As long as you paint the holes you drill I can't see it being a big problem.
