How soon do you need it? As I'm currently expanding my search for an economy gauge, and should I find one, the odds are that there will be an ambient temperature gauge too! As I already have one fitted it would be spare, however I do have another car I would consider putting it on. However I will keep my eyes open for you and anyone else who needs one, such as Lentinj, who also lost out on the bidding for the ambient temp gauge on Ebay, if he's still after one.

I may go and have a look in the next couple of days to be honest! Just out of interest why only the ambient temperature gauge!? Do they already have the econ gauge or do not really want one? Do you also need the sensor and wiring for the gauge or is it to replace a broken one?

hey i just found out off my boyfriend what an eco gauge is yes he has one of them but it will not fit his car it is for a 1983 mk2 volvo so im told. i think he would be willing to swap it for an ambient gauge if any one has one.

an econometer looks like this
(left hand side) - the temp gauge is on the right
unfortunately, if his econometer is from a '83 volvo (think he got it off ebay - i remember seeing some smiths ones on there) then i doubt anyone will want it at the mo - as nearly everyone has late-style, post-85 dashboards.

I'm not suprised the econ gauge is buried in the red given the speed you are doing in that pic.........

Curses! Yes I am still looking for one---although we probably have the last laugh, seller said that the gauge had 2 spade connectors on the back, so according to James it was the Smiths-type and wouldn't have fitted.
Re: Smiths vs. VDO, when you say it wouldn't fit, did you mean that the cable that's already in some 360's wouldn't attach to it, or will it simply not go into the dashboard?
I'm moving back to Manchester soon, might try a scrapyard weekend at some point. Scrapyards around here aren't too hot for 340's.

Ouch.. thats going to hurt if thats the case! I did think that all the smiths type guages were white though, and the econ guage on ebay had red markings.
