I love the handling of the 360! Could do with stiffer lower springs but otherwise its great. I've never driven a car I'm so confident at throwing into bends fast enough to slide.

bent axle

Post by brad360 »

Forgive my ignorance...

what exactly is toe-in?

How do I tell if my axle is bent?

***

Somewhere on the www I saw production numbers of various 300 series models.

I'm thinking only about 50,000 out of over 1 million were 360 GLTs.

As only the 360GLT was sold here I would think only a few thousand can have made it to Australia. I wonder if there is a way to find out how many were sold or how many are still on the road...

I saw another one about a week ago, first time in three months since I bought mine. The one I saw I had seen maybe 2 years ago, parked near home, I thought it was different.

another Australian review

I see at:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... eName=WD1V

it says Wheels magazine January 1987 compared " Citroen BX vs Honda Accord vs Rover 416i vs Volvo 360".

I most certainly will not be bidding for that, but one day might find a copy at a garage sale or somewhere

Made the front cover of Motor Manual, March 1984.

I don't think this magazine exists any more.

One day i will track down copies of Wheels July 1984, Jan 1987 and Motor Manual 1984.

It might take me a year or two.

brad I have a copy of MM March 84 (thank you ebay!!) that i can photocopy the artice and snail mail or fax to ya if you interested????

My dad drove one of the 1st of em in Oz (84 IIRC) and commented on how secure the thing felt. He was doing 110km on a shitty outback road (it was his bosses car!!) and at one stage had 2 wheels in teh dirt and 2 on the road and he could hardly notice the difference!!

I happen to have recently obtained a scanned copy of the Jan 87 wheels review.

It gives the 0-100 time as 14.7s, when in July 84 it said 10.8. 3.9s slower.

What do people think of this? Unleaded can't have made that much difference.[/img]

that sounds a bit far out of reality!!!

means dragging a daewoo matiz could get embarrasing!!

with some of the turbobricks guys (none of which have turbos - lol) we are trying to arrange a dyno day in coburg in 2 saturdays time if you are interested???

mine is 1986, made for unleaded.

I did a not-very-scientific time 0-100, using the clock in the car.

I thought it was about 15, but I only went up to about 4200rpm.

Even if the speedo was out and I only went to 95, and I timed it wrong and it was 17, I just can't believe the flat-out 0-100 time is 14.7, no way.

Yes, I might be interested in the dyno. I'm not a real petrol head and don't really care if it is that slow.

I have an 87 (86 import) and i think our cars have 113hp (b200EA) and i imagine the 0-100 would be somthing like 11s.
I want to see the torque curve for these cars stock.

i think it is correct taht our cars (b200EA) torque peaks at 4200, which is slightly later than the leaded models and a bit less torquey.

dyno graph would be very helpful!

\btw since i dont want to make a new topic..
im really scared of my cars handling now, i just DONT know when its gonna lose traction.. usually you know..
im paranoid
driving down a hill at 80 not on the throttle, went through a damp patch and my car started to spin. ended up just in the next lane without loosing it..

and then last night i nearly span out..
i dont know whats going on
it seems to be ever since i replaced my rear axle..
i havnt had these problems in cars before

im quite scared driving it atm
