Does it tast ok?

A oil change would be well recomended on a car that has stood so long. Dont forget to use a volvo oil filter.

I tend to use Volvo oil filters too, but there are other makes which have the all-important non-return valve too. I believe Bosch, Mann, QH have them. Mahle, Halfords and the other really cheap stuff don't ...

No, Mahle is definitely what I'd call cheap 'n' cheerful ;-) At least the OC xxx range is which is usually on offer for the 300-series. No non-return valve so the filter drains when you turn off the engine.

1985 340 DL 'RAI' special (Streepje): 81.000 km
1985 340 DL 'RAI' special (Lijntje): 52.000 km

Streepje already had the engine, clutch and vario swapped, Lijntje had been in storage from 2001 till 2008. Both got their registration on 22 may 1985.

Here some pictures, 2 years old but the body didn't change that much. I got the car since 93 with 110 kkm, ride a lot until 96 when the Turb diesel entered home, then it was my 3rd car until 03, then from 03 to 06 the car was on the Yeu Island (in front of Noirmoutier / Vendée).
