Haha...what a guess!
There's a lot of interchangeability with the Garretts...hence so many hybrids. What are your power goals, roughly? If it's 500+, I reckon the T4 hot side might be about ideal...but the compressor might be a touch small. Would be interesting to take a look at the compressor map for it.
cheers

I cant find a compressor map for that particular turbo its standard fit on a leyland 510. I want around 400bhp ideally to start with then go from there. Off hand do you know how restrictive a T3 hot side would be?

Off the top of my head, a Cosworth .63 A/R T3 hotside should see you to best part of 400bhp, depending on the wheel in it. A Volvo housing (.63 A/Rs were only on 240 turbos...740s had smaller ones...either .42 or .48...one is compressor and one turbine, but I always get them mixed up!) with a ATP wastegate housing would be similar.
The T5 guys are generally getting a shade over 400 with the bigger GT28s (71s? 76s? I'm not sure...). I don't know how these flow compared with a T-series, but a 2871 certainly looks quite big...compressor, at least.
I'd probably downsize to a T3 turbine to be honest, at least as a starting point. Being modular, you can always upgrade later with ease if it doesn't suit.

well this is gonna be something special when it's all done
what was the max rating on that IC?, i believe you have the same core size as i do and that is rated at i believe 350bhp?

Nice manifold making skills, even if it's not turned out how you want it, thats some nice chopping and welding.
Painting the headlight bowls makes them look 100% cooler aswell

it will work, if you see the log-style manifolds it shouldn't matter a bit.. but in theory a straight 90degr bend as collector before the turbo could be a pain in the ass if it gets a weird swirl pattern in it that potentially gets an opposite swirl in the turbine housing
you can't place the turbo near runner 5 and equalize lengths by letting the 2,3,4,5 runner in a larger dip placing the mount upright?; then you should be able to keep some clearence for a 3" downpipe straight back above the manifold and down at the twin brake cylinders (or give it another angle towards the right mirror so it goes down before the twin brake cylinders) the chassisbeams should allow that setup since it gets a bit wider at front, the bends on the piping can be made with a little smaller radius too
i believe the waterpump is on the other left side of the engine; no other obstructions at the right? should give enough room then if the custom engine mounts are placed low enough

Yeh Anjo thats exactly what i wanted to do. The waterpump is on the exhaust side of the engine though.
I am in the process of investigating an audi quattro manifold. I'm trying to buy an exhaust gasket to have a look into the port spacing. As i can buy off the shelf manifolds for them reasonably priced.

I did the painted light bowls thing a few years ago...it looks awesome!
Very good point about the standard manifolds - that can hardly be worse, even if it's less than ideal. They're usually very forgiving of "average" manifolds. It might cost you a bit here and there, but it's probably not worth fretting about.

Very nice, I'm itching to see some stuff turning attached to 340s though. Look forward to this car finished
