well no progress made ont he car; yet. a bit of a dramatical planchange actually :D

GT2560R ballbearing turbo VS stock T2:

ant the stock T2 and T3 actuator:

i'm looking for a GRP-A spec carb + a box of jets and other accesoiries and a hot cam + adjustable pulley at the moment. since engine will come out that isn't that much of extra work. i'm even thinking of a slingshot plate in the sump for while i'm at it. this should be able to break the 200bhp barrier when build ;) off course the downpipe will be equipped with a bung to get the AEM AFR gauge working, and the EGT sender will be placed in the manifold right before the turbocharger. all other senders will be placed on the engine so that also means i have to get my new dash going

aaargh, soo much work to do; so little time

i allways found if funny that it had an exhaust sounding leak at cold start and after a minute or so it was gone.. could never find what it was untill yesterday when i took the T2 apart

Image

a piece has come of the center housing
Image

checked the bearings for wear, there is a noticable wear but they seemed to be in ok condition still, that was a surprise
Image

and i looked at youtube 5min ago and saw the first movie, from an unknown spectator, bad quality and one of my worst laps with the 940 rally chasing me but it should still be fun to watch, enjoy!

yesterday i had some spare time to do a bit of work on the car

Image

took 3 T2 turbo's apart and used various parts to make a reasonable "good" one. placed it on the engine, hosed everything up

Image
and took it for a spin...

first half mile it smoked like crazy but after a short while the smoke dissapeared, engine oil was up temp so it was time to wake the car up and playing a little :D at some point i had to brake hard for a chicane and i felt a sudden powerloss, pressed the clutch and the engine stalled.. tryed starting it and a few loud bangs and even flames came out of the redhot exhaust

no ignition.. was thinking what it could be and a few people i've just overtaken stopped to tell my i'm a crazy human being and drove on  then i suddenly knew what was going on.. i placed the fire extinguisher under the drivers seat and made it freely accessible; still not bolted down.. under the drivers seat happens to be the secundary ignition masterswitch  the extinguisher rolled forward and pressed the switch; dawm that thing gets bolted to the car very soon...

so switch on, and it fired right up :D

so finally i've got all my 3 300's operational at the same time!, that's some news for the papers.. now i just have to find a place in the shedule to rip the engine out and do some TIG welding on the new stainless manifold :)

just looked back at you pics, it's funny actually, i've cut the bottom piece at almost the exact same place as you did :P but..., i've cut away even more :D
Image

the bumper is still a long way from done though, ordered a few bits for it.

more piczz

new 0bhp ride-height  ,looks like sh*t !
Image

it was funny though, i started saturdaymorning 9 o-clock and engine was out at lunch.. it took a little bit more time hosing the thing up last year

Image
clutch, only just ok.... pressureplate allready shows blue heatmarks; this pretty much explains the GHHNK when changing gear above 6000rpm, glad i pre-ordered a new paddle clutch, allready have other flywheel + new pressureplate in stock aswell.

and, the B14.4E-T back on the engine stand :D
Image

now there are a few other jobs that come up first; things like this:
Image
vw yellow koni's in 300 struts with special strut bearings and a few mods to the strut and topmount.

and work offcourse, so i'll probably start TIG welding the stainless manifold in a few weeks :) i did place another BIG order yesterday, the 340T just doesn't stop robbing my bankaccount  involved are a few other engine upgrades:)

volvosneverdie wrote:work very very very hard.
i'm afraid you are right on this one  i'm used to working around new stuff since i'm a heavy road truck manufacturer, then it suddenly becomes a second nature to work with new stuff :D

if you want me to build something for you, just contact the salesman at my work to buy one of these babies: http://www.terbergbenschop.nl/uk/produc ... s_open.php
espescially the RT223/283/323, that is our latest model; only 8 manufactured jet and 6 of those by me
it's a shame these only come in LHD, that would have been possible aswell  http://www.terbergbenschop.nl/uk/produc ... s_open.php

Beutiful work as always!
What kind of camshaft is that, catcam?
Is that a R5 GTT original nocksensor, if so where does it mount on the engine?
