Well, its time for MOT again. Only (big) problem was CO and rough idle. Blew trough the carb with compressed air (ehh, it always does? lol) and it runs great. Better than it ever did. CO won't probably a problem anymore, but i'm gonna check it friday.

Got eight 14" BMW steelies and four 15" vauxhall steelies, so in the future hopefully no problems with grip anymore.. (couldn't get grippy enough tires for the 13" wheels) Well, the first set rims got a beautiful metallic blue color

It runs really great. Love to drive it. 10th of July I'm going to the track again.

I was struggling with (not enough) grip. The first corners where pretty diffecult with the 1400cc down in revs.

But, for the first(!) time I don't have to fix my car after competition. Also no need for servicing during the day. Reliability gets better and better.

Three rear windows are changed for lexaan (polycarbonate?)



Front interior gone





Removed (heavy) rear spoiler. The window spoilers stay, its leight and plastic. The car (was) lowered for 6cm's at the rear, a bit less on the front. But its almost original height again!



Gonna change the oil and brakefluid next week.

I understand your logic, but can't help feeling it looked better with the wee Mk2 spoiler on!

wish i had a spoiler lol my boot lids a mess. Cars looking great, love the paint scheme and nice to see another maroon 300.

Yeah, I know. I was hesitating putting it back or not... I always can however. but that thing is damn heavy..

It felt so stupid putting plastic windows in and letting the heavy spoiler on.

Im after doing similar to mine, and have been tempted to just cut to shape myself.

Maroon, is that the same colour as poo-red in dutch? It will probably get a proffesional respray at the end of the year. No poo red anymore

@ Kaos: I did everything myself. It was an easy job. Let me explain:

Take a (not sharp) pin and start to push the windowrubber from the inside of your car over the metal. Do it for about 10cm, plus a corner. Then you can pull from the outside the rubber out of the window.

Don't break the window, you'll need the shape for your new window. Just take a marker and mark the new window with the old one. Don't make the new window bigger. After you cut it all out, put the new window on the old one, you'll notice its still a bit too big. Make it the same size.

Then you start putting the rubber back ont the window (which sucks because the new window is flexible). Put a cord al the way in the rubber where normally the metal of the car is. Hold the window to the car and start to pull the cord, the rubber "flaps" over the metal. An easy fit!

I didn't used any kit, the windows don't leak. The big rear window however does need kit. Normally not where the window fits the rubber, but I should have because it leaks. I did already used kit on the metal part.

For the big rear window make your new window a little bit bigger (a mm alll around for example) for a tight fit.

you don't need english lessons, your english is great! - nice job on the car, I'm a fat knacker so I wouldn't dream of doing the weight saving stuff until I went to the gym and lost a few stone
