The new engine for the 340: F3N
multipoint injection (MAP)
Spaghetti auspuff
Hopefully I can get the 1400 turbo running today, so the buyer can take it out. Then this week/next week make the 1.7i running so I can drive again and make a start on the 360!
see ya

Yeah 340 is running again. The new owner of the 1400 turbo engine will pick it up in a few days. This way he can see its running great.
So I can already start making the F3N Volvo ready.
This must be called "hobby" lol

Directly started on the F3N. I found out its the 109hp version with fenix ECU.
Fitted the 1700 crossmember:
The old 1700 engine, sump already switched:
clutch parts:
The prise-bearing is fitted in the crank, I did'nt know. So I was stuck on not having a bearing. After Xmas I 'll buy a new bearing.
So what now? Electric stuffsss.. I'm colorblind, so a mate helped me out. Afterall the colours didn't match any book, or scheme. Demanteled the whole electrics.
Lambda
Knock knock sensor. take a look at the original heat exhanger
Exit old crappy electrics:
Wiring is ready for use. Engine is almost ready to fit the 340.

bearing
And its in.
The intake is positioned wrong, so a mate is gonna reweld it. It will also be prepared for a 16v throttle bodie
The GTT engine was strong enough to brake both rear enginemounts
Anyone some idea's for a nica cam or something?

I wish I had your speed Frits! I don't understand cams enough still but I have the green books with all the 4xx series cam specs indoors if that helps.

But still, it is not going fast enough lol.
If you have any idea for a good N/A cam, give me a post with the specs and car (originally)
I hope the car is running and completely finished at the end of the week. But tomorrow I'm helping a friend with his new house. Tuesday I go hunting with my dad.
Hopefully the intake will be back wensday.

Have a look at 400 B18KP/B18F. Both run the same cam, it's the one that gets 95bhp out of the carb'd 1.7 and ~105 I think out of the lambda'd 1.7i. It certainly looked the strongest NA cam when I was looking to put something more interesting in Fake.

allemamachies (dawm!)
good thing you spotted this frits, i haven't even noticed it when we were taking out the engine, but i dit examine the frontbeam to see if the rigid enginemounts wouldn't make the steel tear..
looks like it ripped purely by torque, but thiss could still be the result of the stock front rubbers being tared all the way at your rally day? I will have to find a way to strengthen the mounts, just in case.
good to see that the F3N is making good progress!

Well, I also didn't notice. I noticed when I had to change the left one because of the 1700 engine.
The front crossmember looked good. Strange because only the front mounts where stiff and should get the most stress.
Don't forget I abused these mounts for about three year. And two times the fronts mounts where complete gone, so the rear got al the stress.

Looks like I haven't been updating for a long time!
Engine runs already from the end of february. The power of the 1.7 8v multipoint is great, not that much as the 1.4 GTT, but good enough for some fun. I'll give it a photoshoot if I have some time.
Some new goodies will be shown
