That's the alternator bracket, and sump from a 1.7 volvo 340. You still need both, but neither of those are engine mounts!

RARGH!! you'll get there soon dude. The sump mount looks like an upside down triangle with a semi circle on top, when looked at head on. If that helps

Righty,

I haven't been on for a little while but wanted to share a little update.

Progression feels really slow up to this point due to funds but mainly just having the time to work on her!

I managed to finally get hold of all the parts i needed for the conversion (NOT easy as im sure you all know)
I towed the car 15 miles to my work so i could use a proper ramp/tools etc!

Few more recent pics:

I have learn t a VERY valuable lesson (which makes me feel stupid) - Replace the crank seals when they are in front of you and the engines out NOT once you have put everything back together!!!!!

Knocked up a very 'cheap looking' (actually only cost £16.50!) Exhaust using bits i had lying around and some 2" bore pipe!
Using a mazda rx8 midbox
Image

Home made steering gaiter heatshield! - appreciate this may not be the way most choose to have their down pipe, but works fine!

Had a right nightmare with the front oil seal, well at least i thought i did! I replaced the seal as there was a leak ( a big leak) and re-fitted all the cambelt etc....Still leaking, so reomved everything and really couldnt see where it was leaking oil from. I removed the plastic shield behind the cambelt/pulleys and found that one of the plastic shield securing bolt holes (the one left of the crank pulley) doubles up as an oil way plug and that bolt/screw was missing so i chemical metaled her in! No more leak!!!

Thats all for now, but shes running as sweet as a nut and bone dry too now!!
