It's a shame they didn't do a slightly more thorough job, but great to see it looking happier!
If you remember Steve's moody "two mk2s" picture (his ex-GLS and the 83 GLT scrapper I had in), that car is now sporting a good chunk of the back of the GLT!
It looks like it's suffering from 'O'Rly' Rear Light Syndrome........

The left-hand one looks a bit low...but the right hand one appears to be pushed in under the tailgate lid a bit...presumably because (judging by the position of the plate) the rear panel hasn't been fully pulled out.
Certainly passes the 6 foot test, though! Not many of these left, so good to see it's been repaired.
I have just had a text message from Nick, the owner of this car, asking for some more help.
He says the car was wheezy, the radiator was losing water and the oil slightly frothy on the dipstick, so he suspected the head gasket. Having taken the car to the garage, the mechanic confirmed that it was in fact a cracked cylinder head. The engine is a B14.2E, and he is looking for either a replacement head or a complete engine. His mechanic is happy to do the work.
Does anybody have a spare head or engine to help keep this lovely car going, or know where we could source one?
I have one in the 343 (JAK 74W) which will be coming out, assume it must be the same head? Would be nice to think it went to keep another 343 going! Especially as they repaired their car after the accident and kept it on the road.

Otherwise, given the other replies it seems that any B14 head would do, so does anyone else have a spare one?
Yes, I think any head would do. Mine will be NOT unleaded compatible then? I thought maybe too early for unleaded but at least authentic aged part to keep car original!
I'm kind of clearing the decks to 'start' on the car this spring. I was counting on having the car movable under it's own power for a bit longer but if it's an emergency I could remove the engine.
