Research! I think you did a conversion a while ago foggy, to twin solex c40 addhe carbs on a b200k? Just wondering how that turned out. Did it work, how much work involved installing/setting up and did you need to upgrade anything else?

I think this is the engine you put into your mk1, correct?

There is alot of information available on B200/B230/B23 Cams on the internet generally. I do recall seeing a big table with every cam you could ever want, including race with all the specs etc.

Looking at Haynes it says the opening points are different between B19 and B200 L and A Cams, hows that happen?.. sprocket different too?

I had though there where different cams between the high compression B200E and the later low compression version as they managed to keep the same max power levels with the lower compression, but by moving the power up the revs a bit.

I have a spare A-Cam from an 87 GLT if anyone wants it.

I would think that the intake lobe of the A cam is rotated relative to the L cam.

Peak horsepower is almost certainly limited by the exhaust and intake on those engines, rather than the compression ratio, so that might explain it. I bet the torque figure for the higher compression version is more impressive, though!
