I am glad to see that she is roadworthy now.
Will you be pursueing the Blue&White plates now? I suspect that she would still be eligible for them.

I will have to add the pics to my photo archive :D .
Thanx, RJ/Sion/TOM! Yes, the Original light blue plates are already availble...
Some small issues are left: fuel tank, the clutch is sometimes not engaging (microswith in the handle?), the CVT is very noisy and problaby nnot swichting on the vacuum.
Of course you keep your jobs on a classic it :-)

Hello from Madrid, Spain:

I read you post, awesome work done with it!!!! Now I am doing the same to another 1977 (or 76 I'm not quite sure) Volvo 343 DL. I bought it at Stockholm and drove it all the way to Madrid stopping by at Volvo Museum at Gottemburg.

My main headache is finding spares for this car, specially plastics which tends to break as soon as you touch them :-(

Here are some pictures I am sure you are familiar with. I still working on it, hope to finish it before year ends. Hope will look as nice as yours soon... too much work left!!!

Hi Johnny, thanx very much for the compliments! As your photos are showing: your job seems quite identical to mine..

What a trip: from Sweden all the way to Spain, did the car behave well? And what about fuel consumption?

You can determine the year of the car by the suffix after 343500 on the ID plate, EC is 1976 HC is 1977..

I think you have pretty much luck with the plastic, mine already broke when looking at it
Ah, just kidding: I do have some spare parts from the brown dashes, so any particular parts you'd like to acquire from me?

Grtz, Freerk

Meanwhile the Blue/White liscense plates are mounted, making the car really look '70's style:

It also has a fresh MOT, so I will be enjoying it a lot this summer!
