Volvo did race with vario in rallycross, I don't know what changes they did make to it, but that kind of system would be nice to get as cars did have some grunt then so would last bit better, I think.

Frits needs a LSD to keep things in working order.. even with a manual box you will kill the diff if you drive like Frits
PS according to a volvo marketing guy in 1976; 'the variomatic is their only uniqueness'

I've been thinking of a manual gearbox. But it will stay a vario... It have its charms. I like it.
I also searched for more information about the rally 343. There is not much information wich is useable.
I keep driving/drifting the variomatic.
Oh I've bought 4 new 15 inch rims

(about tuning the vario

The vario is great fun and indeed does have it's own charms.
I have some info on the 343 Vario rally car! I need to get it scanned, then I seem to remember it's in German I think, which I can decipher a few words, but technical car related stuff gets interesing and I often don't understand some bits.
It certainly looked like it was laying down the power well for a vario unit, and seemed to enjoy plenty of sideways action!

Hi all,
It could be worse indeed. The volvo experts will look at the car tomorrow. If the car is technically OK, i will repair all the damage.
My brother was driving on a roundabout, the vauxhall Corsa was looking at a bycicle, ans dind't saw my brother. The vauxhall startet to accelerate, hit te front of the volvo and slamed the side of the car.

I've been drivin it for the first time after the accident, and everything is ok. (exept for the power

been driving a 114 GTI MPI for a while)
The experts says that the damage is about 1000 Euro's, professional repair. It is not clear yet what i will get from the insurance. Probebly about 500 euro. Maybe less.
