Is it really 306 Smoke Silver? And not 313 Champagne Metallic? I'd never call your colour silver, it's more gold for sure! If it wasn't dark I'd take a look under the bonnet......... but I'll trust you on this one!

Vart, I can't imagine them being different, someone correct me though if I'm wrong, only window mechs would be different for the three door. So I'll test them and grab you a pair of central locking gear then.

I'd say there's not even a hint of gold/bronze in there. It's a silver/grey shade, but nothing like as dark as the 240 we had before the 360. Funny, we bought three silver Volvos in a row...and not on purpose!

I'd be tempted for a PAS rack/column too, although I'm thinking that if I get this SE with leather on Ebay...

Rather than guessing we should see if we can compare a PAS 360 and non PAS 360. turning circle, cos IMO I can maneuvre my red PAS car just the same as my non-PAS blue 360, otherwise, for instance if a PAS 360 was worse turning circle wise how are they running the angles so fine that one slight misadjustment means the tyre rubs the anti-roll bar on full lock as on Pete's car?

UPDATE TIME!
Vart wrote:are there two central locking motors and asoc gubbins available and do they fit 340 3 doors? not for definate but having had it on the awful 1.7 i had put down, i miss it.

i spose its only one other door to unlock but its still a hassle

cheers
Vart, would you like the motors still?

Still interested, I can package them up and see how much they'll cost to send, I think size will be the issue rather than weight.

Ali, spoke briefly with you the other night about it, still interested?
Carl wrote:I said ages I'd have to come over at some point Pete, but I still havent got round to it.

Can I put my name down for the sump, oil pump and front struts from the black GLT if no-one wants it whole?

Cheers

Carl
Carl, there is an engine missing a flywheel, that could be a donor for your sump if you're still interested. Front struts, we can get those for you.

Right, many thanks to Andy, Foggy and Steve for their help. So far I have a very empty looking saloon shell sat on the drive on blocks ready to leave soon. A few more bits to remove from it and it's the end of the road for that one sadly.

Anyways, really just a BUMPITY BUMP to see if anyone wants anything else really. I hate to have to do it, but the cars have to go, no one would take the black saloon, even for free, so I'm forced to break them.

Off the top of my head there is a very clean white saloon headlining, two saloon boot lids (both GLT) one black one 306 silver t name but a few. These are things I'll not have a use for, owning a pair of hatchbacks, so, claim them now, or they'll be going! I'm trying to keep anything else remotely useful, but I have limited space, so shout if you need anything!

No problem mate. It really seems a PITA to get any wires through into the doors on a 300, they didn't exactly give much of a space through that grommet and flexible tube!

Excellent Pete, thanks mate. The sump, oil pump and intermediate shaft would be great. Or just the whole lump if that's easier. And struts too would be even better!

Well Carl, it might be best you take the whole lump then, as I'll have another that I'm keeping sat around soon, and the parents aren't too happy as it is! It's missing the flywheel now.

It can probably be reunited with its flywheel, as I don't think I'll need it in the long-term.

Intermediate shaft....bloody good point Carl! Balls, another part to find....

cheers

Mr Pete Sir, when would be a good time to pick up the engine? Does it need to be gone soonish or can it wait? It would be great if we could leave it till I moved (hopefully end of October) but if you need it gone before then I'm sure I can sort summat out.

Well, end of October should be fine mate. I've pushed my luck long enough with the parents, a couple more weeks shouldn't hurt too much! It's more the shells they're moaning about, so they're going asap, but now the engine is out.... that can sit on a trolley for a while. Cheers.
