Errrr, no. SD1s only had the 3.5 engine as standard and the Vitesse's were rated at 190bhp with the Lucas EFi. Later Twin PLenum Vitesses pushed the power over 200bhp (that's be the car I'd really like but they sell for big money!) :)

Oh, and a cheeky pic for germ, and to annoy James:

But with Fioner, to keep it relevant. Taken at some services on the M4 on the way back from picking the car up.

And the reason for the glorious sound track:

Sorry, I do apologise, the 3.5 EFI's were 190bhp - twas the carb'd 3.5's that were 155.

Yea, a twin plenum Vitesse would be nice - I saw one yesterday as a matter of fact and the driver wasn't scared.........

Is SD1 as unreliable what rumours are telling?

I have always liked from such car, from the day when I saw one at road rally stage, great sound, stylish design, oh and I guess it was never sold in here.

I know atleast one SD1 in Finland. It is LHD and it was featured in magazine called Mobilisti.

The Range Rover V8 was 135bhp, SD1 was 155bhp, P6 was meant to be 168bhp and the SD1 EFi 190bhp/

The last one I built to put in my mates hot rod was a late SD1 stiff block with P6 Rods and Pistons, mildly ported SD1 heads and a Edelbrock/Weber carb and manifold. Made 220bhp ATF which aint too bad at all. I'd definetley recommend getting the Edelbrock carb and manifold they're excellent loads better than the SUs and the usual Holley/Offenhauser combo.

Yeah, i kinda agree the spoiler would finish the rear off!

Mine started off life as a v8 auto, but at some point has been converted to a manual. So defo available in auto form.

Insurance is done on a low mileage classic policy and is gonna cost a few hundred pound with all the mods declared, so not to bad!!

Thanks for the praise - glad someone likes it ;)

A 4 barrel Edelbrock would be cool, but can;t afford that at the mo. Maybe later :D

Look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rover_V8 for some real facts or of course we could play Chinese whispers about the ol' Buick lump indefinately.
