It's a fair list. Brakes are a curious one. It took 15 minutes of hard use for my brakes to go a bit spongey, while others appear to be able to cook them with one heavy application.

PAS gives you ~2.5 turns lock-to-lock, IIRC.

The shell on these cars is damn rigid unless they're rusted to hell. This isn't 80s FWD French tat (keke...) made of tin foil ;) I was amazed when my 360 stopped dead when one rear jacking point hit the axle stand....with the rear jacking point on the other side 2-3mm off its stand.

cheers

James

Good but i hate PAS so i would have to junk all of the power stuff.

90's french car actually :P :P And because of my roll cage and custom seat mounts, if i want to get the whole car on axle stands i only have to jack it up in 2 places :D :D

I totally agree with you on PAS, but don't junk it, someone else may want to buy it ;)

I was going to "junk" the power setup and maintain the quicker rack, but its a bit of an mot problem

Ok, but lest not forget that all of this is just hypothetical. I will be selling the 360 soon in the same state that it left the factory (completly standard not the same quality  ) Maybe the person who buys it will want to carry out a few of these ideas. I'd like to see someone do the independant rear end idea :D

i'v heard that it is and it isn't. after seeing pics of ones that passed and ones that didnt it seems to me that the neater it is the more likely it will pass. Also if you have a nice MOT tester you stand in good stead to pass

I was going to run either tube from one end to other or also add a small header tank, not sure yet.

Dont think there is any pics of an independant setup on here, only nevs original 5-link panhard setup (de dion still in place) on page 2 or 3 of the tuning section I think.

i'v seen it now. I had a much more elaborate plan in my head. Spaceframe cage to mount the gearbox to the body, completly do away with the De Dion rear tube and brake set up, I'd find some hubs from somewhere and brakes (preferably discs cause they're so much easier to work on) and i'd make some adjustable wishbones (two on each side) which would be fully adjustable and some coilovers to sit in between them

I've no idea what to do yet, the more I think about the more complicated it gets! and I need to learn how to weld properly

Message Avto he is a good welder.Tell him Phil Morton says he has to weld Volvo 360's or else-do not deviate from the script .He will know what ya mean
Oh yeah, you'd better tell him ya love Lada's too

lol, tbh my theory with rallying (almost always on muddy wet lanes) is that once the front suspension is sorted, then the rear will follow ;)

with good throttle control this is very true :D

The pother thing i forgot to mention that this car would need to be a track car is some good bucket seats! I forgot how much strain constantly hauling myself back in to the seat puts on my arms and chest muscles. It's so much nicer to be straped in to a bucket seat when you're hooning it on track :D
