Cheers, Pete, thanks for your help!
I got no reply from the "servolenkung.net" site BTW. Seemed too good to be true ...

There is a very good steering rack company near me that have been very helpfull. They rebuilt my 340 rack and have done my old mans LHD 240 power rack as a special. I could have a chat with them and see if they can do a 360 pass rack but they would need the dead rack to rebuild.

That would be good to hear about, Dai. Find out if they're be willing to do a few. I have a plan....

James, the LHD wiper arm arrived this week. The spindle-mount blades are Bosch 562. See my post in the offers section (you have first dibs, obviously

Yes they are willing to have a go but will need 1 rack first to make sure that they can do it.

I've been under the impression that models with steering servo have the inner tie rod end which has a male thread and ones without servo have a female thread. If that's the case, every parts store here sells both.

...but do they have the right threads? I'll try to get a set of spares and measure the threads.

Tom, I just wonder if you were able to find a solution for your PAS steering rack! New tie rods? New rack? Or yours reconditioned?
I have now a whole (used) rack, ready to be installed but I'm a bit scared for "play" problems with it because it has 180.000 km...
Did you get an answer from the guy on servolenkung.net? Cause the rack for the 360 could be available there, and not too expensive...

Pete kindly sourced a RHD power steering rack for me, so I can use the track rods from that. I haven't swapped the parts over yet though, as the Mk1 has priority at the moment, also the GLi is coming up for its MOT too now ...
I never heard from the servolenkung.net chap.

Time to update the thread. The GLT''s passed it's MOT now and the steering is partially overhauled. What was done:
lower ball joints replaced
outer ball joints replaced (MOT failure)
one tie rod and bellows replaced (MOT failure) sourced from Pete's used RHD PAS rack.
Some pics of the old bits:
The main problem was a very small split in one of the bellows, which meant dirt and moisture found it's way through.
These tension rod brackets were fairly rusty, and the bushes split and porous (MOT advisory)

replaced these with used parts from Holland. They're not V340 / 360 or PAS-specific, so were fairly easy to source.
Some new brake discs and pads, welding to the sills, some new fuel hose, and hopefully some trouble-free driving in future
