James, a tenner a rim?! You're going all soft and squishy in your old age - or maybe you're just richer - either way, those are priced to sell.

Ten pound a rim is a great price man. very kind. :D
If you were round the doors Id have them greedily in half a heartbeat.
But Bonny Lincoln is a fair old bounce away eh?

Dont want to get too far ahead of myself just yet.

One job at a time, given my limited funds/space/attention span/compitency regarding even the most simple of mechanical challanges.

Going to empty my pockets to drop it down a bit first, see how it looks on these wheels.

Save like Jesus for a bit and then address the wheels.

Thanks very much though James, if youve still got them knocking round unloved after new year I'll likely have a run down.

Well the problem with the pricing is that (although they're worth that scrap, most of the time), I'm aware of what these rims can be had for if you search hard enough...and I kinda have rims coming out of my ears (albeit most of them are narrow 13" steels with 25 year old rubber on them).

They're currently supporting my mk2 GLT, but I can swap a set of the 'correct' rims onto that car pretty quickly if needs be. I may be able to run them a fair way oop North. I was in Leeds a few weeks ago, and I occasionally make it as far as Newc...astle.

cheers

James

Suberbad. If you get back up this way, let us know man and I'll definatly have them. Might even do you a bottle of broon and a nice stottie sarnie an all.

Any other unwanted mods youve got kicking around? Need a lowering kit really, but cant stretch to Dais reasonable prices at the moment. if anyones got any of the constituant parts (front springs or blocks and bolts) not being used at the moment and going like a budgie, let me know and i'll have them.

Well, stage one is complete.
Dropped.
Car is now low as Teeside morality.

Big thanks to FJ industries of Wearside (c) for undertaking the job over the festive peiod.
And to Chris for suplying the gear.

legends.

Whats next?
Hella grille to go on.
Raydotd spots to somehow fit on somewhere.
Still hunting some Minilites (well minilite style anyway) and still stroking my chin over the liberal application of stickers on the rear wing between door and rear arch.
Always looks good on a beetle (imo), but never seen the look on a three hundred.
maybe i could pioneer it. or maybe more chin scratching is needed.
