I'd love to know what that drives like... if those dampers have been replaced in the last not too distant I'd imagine it's superb. The car *looks* to me to be too high but if it's stiffer then that really doesn't matter. I'll dig out the pics of my Mum's '88 the weekend she bought it to see what stock ride height should be.

Fitting Ride-Level(l)ers might have been an option too, but your way is definitely simpler and probably cheaper.

Tom, hubby has now decided the front end is "a little bit spongy" so no doubt we'll be looking at the front springs and shockies in the near future...yes pics of a raised 360 seem to be pretty rare in here...I checked!

A lot more pert and perky.

Most cars tend to get older and tireder over time, yours seems to be getting younger and fitter. :D
Maybee its having its midlife crisis.
Yes, just like a happy little duck, with it's tail in the air. I think she (the car with no name as yet) is enjoying being pampered and rising to meet the challenge!

Andy had a bit of a drive when he was over here, even with her saggy bum, I think it was pretty good. Hubby now says it's a bit spongy in the front end, it sticks to the road like shyte to a blanket. I'm yet to have a spin, so will let you know how she goes. The blacksmith said the springs will "settle" a little bit over the next couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see the pics of your Mums car to compare the two.

Cheers!
Figgy.

P.S. I think Hubby is now obsessed/hooked with getting her "just right".

Hmm, what did they do exectly? Maybe its also possible to stiffen the spring, without higten it? Or even lower it? That would be ideal for us :+

Yes, it very much is ;) Over here there are people who will either temper your old springs, or fab new ones up (don't forget that mk1/2 escorts use leafs as standard, so the knowledge is still about)

Ok, hubby is here and telling me what to type...

Well they heated them in the furnace, stiffened and shaped them - beat the crap outta them with an fbh (large hammer), cooled them in oil and put them back in...

I'm back now lol, now in which order all of that happens is the mystery of a true blacksmiths art I suppose, sorry I can't be more technical.

Anne that looks great :D Yeah I had a drive of that car and it drove really well. We put double springs on Hugh's car, when he took it to the desert, but it was a real bodge job. Your way seems so much better.

BTW, get jealous guys, Aussie 360s all seem to have virtually no rust :( Certainly no structural rust, and only minor bits here and there. I'm sure you've seen pics of Chris's 340 Anne, suppose that's what happens when you live in a place that's perpetually damp. Unlike North QLD, where you get all your rain within a few summer months and then its hot and dry the rest of the year, or VIC where its just dry......
