Here she is. 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ61 with 100% difflocks and 4liter turbocharged diesel engine.
In the pic its running on 35" but due too much toe-in those had to be replaced with 33"
And yes it has been raised, and will be raised more about 4 inches.

What are the benefits of raising it? The actual running gear, axles etc look much, much lower than the body?

Axles rarely cause it to stuck, but if car body starts supporting weight instead of wheels, then car gets stuck, specially in snow and mud axles just go trough stuff instead of lifting weight from wheels.
Also benefit is that wheels can move more and gain contact with surface better, for example when crawling over rocks.
Same situation with all offroad cars, landys and jeeps and whatever is used as base vehicle. When going far enough there is quite little original car left so them all are pretty much same

Okay so i've been pretty lazy on this forum, so here's my attempt at getting back into it
my other car..
'83 240GLE
I have it to thank for getting me into volvos.
before that i rolled around in this beast..
'83 Holden Commodore 253ci V8. it sounded beautiful but didn't go nearly as fast as it sounded, just made me feel like a big man in my early 20's.

I'm raising it because it is bit too low for going offroad. Diffs get hits from the rocks quite easily now. And most of the height given by that 4-5 inch raise is due bigger 39,5 inch tires
