I do, but I also never have any money

My car has so much character. I swore at it for being too big to park and now the dashboard light won't work unless I whack the bit of plastic between the steering wheel and the dials :)

This update is just a quick one, there's many small details I know I'll forget so I'll remember to put them in later. I went up to Swansea this week to get my engine swapped. On the night before I was meant to travel my brake master cylinder completely gave up the ghost. In hindsight we should have probably delayed the swap as we'd lost a day already. Deciding to press on resulted in much of Adam's pain  Nevermind though, it goes like stink and I've already had a few people give me that "WTF" look  So this is how it looked:

First we rolled in the old car and got that pig heart out:

Empty engine bay!

Nice pressure wash of engine and bay:

Results in a nice shiny engine and bay:

Adam works on the engine more:

Getting ready to drop it in:

A downpipe comparison

New clutch and bellhousing fitted:

In it goes!
Image

Sweeeeet.

Ugh, morning.
Image

Fuel system goes in:
Image

Meanwhile I split my engine to have a nose around
Image

Electrics, fluid and fuel linked up

Major fuel leak on the fuel pump means we have to leave starting until the next day. But, she lives! Ignore the steam.

Verrrryy nice! What's the specs? 1.8 or 2.0? These 16v swaps do make me wonder why I have the S70...

@ Kaos, i'm not sure its possible for your downpipe to be direct than that unless you have gone under the crossmember? In which case ground clearance????.....

Adam, what clips are you using to hold the fuel lines in place? Dont look like P clips from the pictures?

They arnet they are specific cable tie holder and double cable tied. Ends up costing a fortune in P clips otherwise.

Rims! And Toyo proxies 185/50/14s. Feels good to have grip again :D Just in time too, my o/s/r tyre has a massive chunk missing about 5mm by 40mm  And the tread was down to about 2mm in places. I thought it was getting a little too easy to spin them up
